Context and Challenge

During my role at Qarik, I contributed to a large-scale project aimed at improving an internal platform, known as the We Network. This tool was used by insurance agents across the United States to navigate policies, manage workflows, and support customers. The existing system had become cluttered and unintuitive, slowing processes and making it difficult for agents to access information quickly.

The goal? Create a simpler, more user-friendly tool that supported growth and efficiency.

My Contribution

I assisted in the discovery research phase, including co-facilitating contextual interviews and workshops with insurance agents and internal staff to understand current workflows and challenges. I also helped run co-design sessions to sketch ideas and test new ways of structuring common user flows.

As part of the team, I took part in information architecture reviews, supporting decisions about restructuring content and navigation. I contributed to the design and testing of wireframes and interactive prototypes, gathering and synthesising feedback to refine interactions. I also observed and supported client presentations, learning how to communicate research findings and design rationale effectively.

Approach

The project combined several methods, including contextual research and interviews, workshop facilitation and sketching, persona development and journey mapping, wireframing and prototyping, and usability testing with iteration.

Outcome & Reflection

Although the details of the final product remain confidential, our research and design work provided the client with a clear roadmap for improving their platform. The redesigned structure and flows aimed to reduce clutter, improve navigation, and help agents complete tasks more efficiently.

For me, this project was a valuable early opportunity to:

Experience the full end-to-end design process within a professional consultancy.

Build confidence in conducting research with real users and stakeholders in a high-pressure industry.

See how collaborative methods like workshops and co-design can align diverse teams around shared solutions
